Life's not about the destination, but the journey.

I have been wanting to try out this medium for a long time. It's watercolors with colored pencil over the top of them. I've always liked drawing on colored paper, and when you add the colored pencils... the swirls were inspired a little by Starry Night.

It took me forever to scan this and try to put it together. It's like the most demented puzzle in the world. The cutouts dont help, and the colors were mostly all off, and the cutouts are curling in on themselves... I may need to get it laminated at one point.

Anyway, this is for my sister... I got the inspiration all of a sudden while watching a movie with her. It wasnt even a fantasy movie. I just had it come into my mind and I frantically grabbed my sketchbook and came up with a rough image... and it had those cutouts. The horse is my little sister's stuffed animal, Violet... and the girl is obviously my little sister. I know, the anatomy on that horse is awful...

I'm sure your sis loved this. The sky is so mystical, I love how you use so many colors in all of your art. And that horse has great anatomy in my opinion.

Hey! Haven't seen you all summer!

Thanks for the compliments lol. I really like the sky too (and will probably do some more stuff like it soon... I've got a thing for tall paneled stuff), but on that anatomy, but I just dont like it personally... the front legs look weird and the horse dosent seem to be angled correctly for me. Aah, maybe I'm being overly critical.

I have to do another horse soon. It's a commission... in a more photorealistic style too. I'll have a few refs but as it is, i'm really nervous about it. I hope I wont get stage fright.

Don't be nervous about drawing it, I'm sure you'll get it great if you stick to those refs- I know I can't live without using them!

And my computer is still kinda on and off being moody, but since I got Avast I haven't had any virus trouble. Thats always a plus, eh?
